If you are looking to achieve extremely defined and perfectly elongated curls then we would suggest trying the shingling method. Shingling is to apply a concentration of styling product to each strand of hair for maximum definition.

Cleanse and condition

To achieve the best shingling technique you need to start with very wet detangled hair. 

Cleanse with the Hibiscus Pink Cleansing Clay-Wash and then apply the Quinoa Repair Deep Conditioner to your curls. Let the deep conditioner sit for at least three minutes and then start detangling. Rinse out and then apply the Babassu Quench Leave-in Curl Primer with a fine tooth comb or our Trepadora Detangling Brush to get your curls ready for shingling. 

Apply your styling product

Apply enough Açaí Berry Fix Defining Gel or Papaya Slip Taming Potion to each section and comb it through with your Detangling Brush. If you need to, re-wet your sections and re-detangle. You then smooth through the styling product into each section. This helps to elongate the curls. Continue with this technique for every section. 

To finish

Once your hair is dry, apply a little Inca Radiance Repairing Elixir to your curls to seal in the moisture and for extra shine. You should now have beautifully defined curls.
